Michael Woods: Thank you very much. With Outlaw, I wanted to do something that was a polar opposite of the previous anthology (Low Orbit) and a western theme seemed to just fall into my lap.

Let's hop into a time machine, my trusted readers. Let's head back to 1980. It was time of change - a time of destiny. It was the year that the last great Star Wars movie was released.

1980: I was 5 going on 6.

I was living in Germany and had just learned how to ride a bicycle. Motor skills and reflexes were good; coordination was bad. I rode my bike to the PX shop on base, where they sold all sorts of sundry things, including comic books. I saw a Star Wars comic on the rack. Empire Strikes Back was coming out soon and I couldn't wait. "Who was this Boba Fett guy I saw in that weird Christmas special?" Maybe this comic had some answers... [more]

Christian Beranek and Tony DiGerolamo recently won a lawsuit against the Federal Government under the Freedom of Information Act to unseal their files. Since the late 80's, the FBI had been keeping tabs on the duo for two unrelated reasons. Since 2003, Beranek has been publishing, DiGerolamo has been writing and artist, Chris Moreno has illustrated the popular webcomic, Super Frat. I had been sitting in my house for over thirty minutes listening to a guy from the future go on and on about the end of comics. He seem kinetic, erratic and perhaps a little bit drunk — oh yeah, and he said his name was Bill.

New Graphic Novel Project Launches with Trailer Voiced by Academy Award Nominee Danny Aiello

"The Minions of Ka" to release several high-profile projects in conjunction with new Graphic Novel.

MANHATTAN, NY – July 7, 2008 – “The Minions of Ka” hits the screen with a teaser/trailer announcing the highly anticipated multi-media graphic novel project.

“The Minions of Ka” is a new graphic novel from creators Dave Wilbur, Michael Furno and Michael Ahearn in conjunction with Silent Devil Productions and Arcana Studios. The 60 second promotional trailer is currently available for view on YouTube and AlphaZombie.com.

The trailer is voiced by Academy Award nominee Danny Aiello and features clips from the highly anticipated 128 book, which will debut at Dragon*Con on August 29th, 2008 and hit store shelves shortly after that. The graphic novel is written by Michael Furno and Michael Ahearn with full color artwork from Chris Moreno and an eye-popping cover by the legendary Ken Kelly.

“This is a very exciting, innovative project,” said co-creator/writer Michael Furno, “I think people are going to be very surprised when they see the things we’re doing. It’s a fresh new look on zombies. We create a whole new world by challenging a lot of preconceived notions. I think people are going to be blown away.”

In addition to the trailer and the graphic novel, “The Minions of Ka” project will feature an original short story by legendary horror novelist Jack Ketchum available later this month. There will also be the release of an on-line game called “Project Outbreak: Track the Strain”, where players can create and build their very own zombie hoard.

ABOUT THE GRAPHIC NOVEL:

The Minions of Ka have commanded the undead for thousands of years. Their power has been used to create and destroy empires. In possession of this great power, The Catholic Church has their sights set on the throne of Charles II. An unnamed warrior for hire finds himself caught between the Church and the English Monarchy in one of the greatest conspiracies of all time.

Silent Devil Announces RPG Adaptation VAMPIRES vs. KNIGHTS

Dracula vs. King Arthur, the critically acclaimed hit graphic novel published by Silent Devil, will now be adapted into a role playing game entitled VAMPIRES vs. KNIGHTS by screenwriter/author Tony DiGerolamo.

Vampires vs. Knights is a d20 role-playing supplement that uses the Dungeons and Dragons system. D&D players will thrill to the campaign set in Arthur's Camelot and specialized weaponry to combat the vampire menace. Other players can actually take up the mantle of a vampire knight and try and extinguish the hope of humanity forever!

DiGerolamo is an old school gamer that has written game material for Kenzer & Company, Goodman Games, West End Games and the Le Games. He also designed his own RPG, Complete Mafia for d20.

"Adam Beranek, one of the co-creators of DvKA, and I are thrilled Tony agreed to write the game based on our concept," says screenwriter/graphic novelist Christian Beranek. "Fans will be able to create their own characters and adventures -- there are going to be many awesome battles between knights and vampires for years to come."

Christian Beranek wrote the screenplay for the upcoming Dracula vs. King Arthur movie. Recently he penned the origin of John Doe for the New Line Cinema/Zenescope series Se7en and launched the graphic novel concept Willow Creek. He will be attending the Emerald City Comicon this coming weekend as a guest.

Vampires vs. Knights will be in stores Spring 2009. Christian Beranek and Tony DiGerolamo will personally demo the game at select conventions.
